Title: Construction of Primary School
Village: Community of Luisa – Builsa Region – Ghana

Beneficiaries: 200 children per academic year (Communities of Luisa and Vundema)
Currently the 145 school age children who belong to Luisa’s community have to walk for more than an hour and several kilometers between fields of crops under the sun to be able to go to the nearest educational center in the closest community where they also do not have teachers and materials to be able to give lessons properly.
This fact, together with the families’ need for their kids (both boys and girls) to collaborate with the work of farming and livestock, water collection and housework causes that most of them do not go to school leading to a non-trained generation in the community.
That’s why the construction of the school is undoubtedly the most exciting project we want to perform.
Based on a study of a group of final year students of the University of Wa, in the northwest of the country, who lived together for three months with the neighbors and after having first-hand experience of the need and coherence of what they told about the project, we have expanded and developed the writing, which contains a study of the logical framework, the logical planning matrix and other means of secondary analysis that make this a well-structured and justified project.
Our association intends to be a meaning to cover a need detected by neighbors, families and local NGOs
, to be pointed out the recently established NGO “WTAGC” (Wype the Tears of an African Girl Child).
The 60.000€ estimated to lift the School include 6 rooms for Primary Education (around 33 students per class), a library, a canteen, a teacher’s room and four toilets (the first ones in the whole community).
The NGO “WTAGC” itself is already raising funds to be able to supply the future students with School material and the organization “Ghana Education Service” which belongs to the Ministry of Education of Ghana, is engaged to support us in terms of logistics (including the teachers, see the attachment).
Apart from the obvious educational benefits for both the younger generations and the women in risk of exclusion, the construction of the School will have a good impact on the population due to the neighbors will be the ones hired to carry out the simplest works as it is stipulated in one of the clauses of the contract with TEAM4Ghana.
Moreover, TEAM4Ghana plans over time to give a double use to the School by taking the opportunity during the afternoons to start a program which includes local volunteers teaching basic courses specifically developed for women due to around the 75% of women of the community do not have how to read or write. If this goal is accomplish, it will undoubtedly lead to a greater autonomy of this group in risk of exclusion and its empowerment, as well as it will guarantee the attendance to School to the next generations.
